Instagram may restrict sending DMs to people who don't follow you. This could significantly impact businesses using Stories, captions, or comments to generate leads. Consider alternative sales methods, growing your email list, and adapting your Instagram strategy.
Hmmm, those a re some big changes aren't they? It's feeling more and more of an unstable platform to me, and so bloody noisy. But, it's still free, so I guess we roll with it ... for now.
On a side note, I've taken about a year to make the decision to work on a Substack account and hopefully access the paid tiers element and podcast. Are you feeling happy with your Substack existence? And do you still have a separate email provider like mailchimp, convertkit etc? I keep thinking that maybe I could try and convert my list over and get rid of mailchimp but I've listened to a few podcasts who say that it may be a little problematic if there are more than one email lists.
Argh. So much procrastination going on around here. Haha
Hope you're well, Ilona and enjoying the new focus of your business. xxx
Hey Kim, There are a bunch of things I don't like about Substack and I will actually be changing the way I operate in this space in the next few weeks as a result. In fact I've already written half my blog post about the change that will be coming! If you are planning on needing a mailing list for anything other than your work writing (eg for selling offerings) then I would def keep two lists going and store one in another place. You can import and export freely between lists as long as everyone on both lists knows that is what they have signed up for is my take. X
